David McCandless talks about ‘The beauty of data visualization’

Great talk by data journalist/information designer David McCandless (author of the fantastic ‘Information is Beautiful‘).

Pivot – A new turning point for web exploration?

As a bit of an info-graphics geek i’m looking forward to further developments in this area.

Here Gary Flake demos Pivot, a new way to browse and arrange massive amounts of images and data online. Built on breakthrough Seadragon technology, it enables spectacular zooms in and out of web databases, and the discovery of patterns and links invisible in standard web browsing.

Great 3D Infographics animation – Eat Real Eat local

Loving not only the stunning 3D info-graphics represented on this animation/video but really like the cause too – GO LOCAL!!

If anyone knows who this is by then enlighten me so I can give them a digital pat on the back!

UPDATE – I’ve since found out this was done by Toronto based brand agency Dashboard, well done you!
